Test Preparation

Technology being what it is – dynamic, demanding, and sometimes unpredictable, weaknesses or vulnerabilities are often concealed during alpha, beta testing and beyond. Often, products are viable and apparently durable until a certain condition, user or usage proves otherwise. When they fail or underperform during critical tasks or demanding usage, the repercussions can be deleterious and expensive.

That’s why we not only test our products meticulously during and after development. We also incorporate testability for design and production as well as for field reporting.

Manufacturability

A product is not complete if it can’t be manufactured – in a timely and cost-effective way. Zenon leverages unsurpassed knowledge and access to key components (e.g., microprocessors) as well as unusually prolific relationships with resources in Asia and around the world to deliver products from which its clients can profit.

Finders Keepers

When is our job done? A few years after we developed a product for a client, the manufacturer discontinued the microprocessor, leaving our client in the lurch. When he couldn’t find a replacement, he brought us back. After search and research, we found a Far East part that allowed for a quick and cost effective solution, extending the life of the product.

It’s All in the Box

Some designers like to say that they “think outside the box”. Zenon’s experience is vast enough to encompass almost infinite sources and solutions. It’s a matter of applying the solution to the situation. For example, most of our competitors today start with the supposition that power and space will be ample. In some cases, we have been able to resolve clients’ issues by discovering and re-purposing lower power and simpler microprocessors….

Profitability

Zenon understands that a product without profit is incomplete; we build profitability into all our products. It starts with reliability, continues with timely development and delivery and efficiency and ends with manufacturability. For example, one client was re-selling a line of products with limited profit margins and was dependent upon a product source that could disappear at any time. We reverse-engineered and developed an improved model that he could produce and sell profitably.
